Paralegals are the future and the answer to providing access to justice

WHAT CAN PARALEGALS DO? Following mediation, we are able to draft the necessary documentation for filing with the Court to have the agreement filed and recognized by the Court. We recommend that parties access legal advice prior to entering into a Court enforceable agreement. Choice Solutions can provide referrals to lawyers in central Alberta who have agreed to charge a one-time fee for legal advice rather than their regular retainer. We will also assist the parties in preparing for Court appearances to present the Agreement to the Judge.

In addition to Consent Orders following mediation, we also offer preparation of divorce documentation from starting the proceedings to completion. Fees for this service are very competitive and we pride ourselves on outstanding service to our client.

WHAT CAN PARALEGALS NOT DO? ‚ÄčParalegals are not lawyers and can not give you legal advice, which means we are not able to tell you what we think you should do.  We can give you information that is relevant to your situation, explain processes and map out the legal processes in the Court system.

LEGAL INFORMATION- Throughout the mediation process you will be provided with legal information that will assist you in reaching an agreement that the Courts would more likely accept and support. This is not to be considered legal advice and we recommend that parties speak with a lawyer prior to signing binding documents.
